Colorado State at Wyoming – POSTGAME QUOTES
Nov. 4, 2017 | War Memorial Stadium | Laramie, Wyo.
Wyoming 16, Colorado State 13

COLORADO STATE HEAD COACH MIKE BOBO

On the late decision to go for it on 4th down:

"Because it was fourth and eight and we couldn't get any footing. We had two timeouts and a chance to stop them."

On the choice to run it on the attempt:

"We felt like we had the numbers in the box and came up half a yard short."

On the defense not getting the stop at the end:

"I'm disappointed for our football team, they played their guts out. The quarterback was the difference – their quarterback run game, being able to get an extra hat in the box. Really nobody could throw it, they threw it some off the low power pass and slipped their fullback in the flat a couple times but the difference was the quarterback could run the ball. And then offensively, for us, not being able to finish drives. We controlled the clock, the game was playing in our hands how we wanted and we just couldn't finish on either side of the ball."

On the results in the last two weeks:

"We've lost two in a row to two of our rivals. It hurts, I like the fight of the team today. They played their tails off, we just didn't make enough plays."

On not controlling their own destiny in the Mountain West:

"It's disappointing that we didn't come here and do what we wanted to do in this ball game. Same thing, we have to be ready to play next week. Guys are hurting in the locker room right now and we have to regroup and get ready to go against a Boise team that has a very good defense and one of the better quarterbacks in the league who can both throw and run. We have to get a good plan and get ready to go to work."

On how much the game plan changed when rain changed to snow:

"Well a lot, it was really hard footing out there for both sides. It just turned into an inside running game for both teams. Again, being able to run the ball, the powers and the G-schemes, was the difference."

WYOMING HEAD COACH CRAIG BOHL

"We talked about weather in our pregame meal. I was a young coach but I once heard Woody Hayes, the old Ohio State coach, say that if you are going to play in the North Atlantic then practice in the North Atlantic. If you are going to play in Wyoming you have to train in Wyoming. That's one of the reasons we go outside and mix it up in all these elements. This was a classic football game. Hats off to Colorado State, they played hard and so did we."

Stop on Fourth Down and following drive

"I certainly proud of the team on that response on the drive down the field. I was proud of Drew Van Maanen coming up with a big catch and he had not only one stinger but two on the play. It was remarkable we only had one penalty and it was a remarkable game. You talk about the will and desire of this football team. Our culture has changed in the locker room and those guys would do everything they can to win a football game the right way. This was a classic Wyoming Cowboy win."

Critical point of stopping them on third down

"It was a great job by our defense of closing them down on third down. This is a prolific offense we were going against. Scottie Hazelton and the rest of our defensive coaches, plus the players did a great job. We were even down a coach. Coach Kaligis had his knee replaced this week and thought he could come back, but he wasn't able to be here. We were down a coach and down to two defensive tackles. We were at the Alamo with Javaree Jackson and Youhanna Ghaifan."

About Kellen Overstreet

"He certainly gave us a spark and kudos to our offensive line. We got man on man. This is going to be a game I'm going to remember for a long, long time."

WYOMING QB JOSH ALLEN

"This is a game that will be talked about for a long time. I'm just blessed to be a part of this and a part of this team. We are a resilient team. We've learned a lot over the course of the season and we will continue to grow and learn. I'm extremely proud of this team."

Feeling on getting the ball back after CSU didn't make fourth down play

"I had a good feeling after the first couple of plays. The previous drive before I fumbled I felt that we were establishing something good on the ground. I was angry that I made that mistake, but our defense kept us in it and I was able to redeem myself. I can't thank the coaches enough for putting me in good positions. Our line played very well, the other running backs played well, so it took all 22 tonight."

About Drew Van Maanen catch

"That catch was the catalyst of that drive. People understand who he is and what he does. He an emotional leader on this team, a captain and that demonstrates hard work. He's going to put everything he has on the line for this team."

 LB LOGAN WILSON

"It was very special to come from behind and get the win on our home field in front of all the fans that stayed until the end. I absolutely love our fans and there is no other place I would be as a Cowboy. I was glad we came out on top."

On shutting them down on third down

"We knew we had to find a way and within ourselves to get off the field to give our offense another opportunity to score. We did that."

Play a short-handed defensive line

"It sometimes comes down to how hard you play. We have guys around us that can fit off each other and make each other right on certain plays. Our defensive line played hard and that's all you can ask."
