Green and Gold Spring Game set for Saturday, April 21, plus Rams Softball and Ram Good Time Auction

FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State football team began its annual spring practice period last week, and today details were announced for the annual Green and Gold Spring Game scheduled for Saturday, April 21. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at the on-campus stadium, and admission is free. Gates open at 11 a.m.

The Green and Gold Spring Game will be broadcast on the CSU Radio Network's flagship station Rock 102.9 FM in Northern Colorado and on Mile High Sports Radio 1340 AM/104.7 FM in the Denver metro area. The broadcast will begin at 11:45 a.m., and livestream video will be available at CSURams.com/live and via Facebook Live at Facebook.com/CSURams.

The day also features a Colorado State Softball game on campus at 11 a.m. and the annual Ram Good Time Auction at the stadium at 6 p.m.

"We hope our students, season ticket holders, alumni and fans will join us for a day of historic 'firsts' at the on-campus stadium," said Joe Parker, director of athletics. "We are very excited to host our first Green and Gold Spring Game in our beautiful new stadium, and to have our 37th Annual Ram Good Time Auction in the stadium for the first time, on the same day. The combination of a softball game and those two events on the same day provide tremendous opportunities for people to engage with the university and our athletics programs on our spectacular campus."

Head Coach Mike Bobo leads the Rams in their preparation for the 2018 season, his fourth at the helm of the Colorado State program. Under Bobo, Colorado State has put together some of the best statistical seasons in program history in his first three seasons, including a school record for total offense last season (492.5), and three of the top seven scoring seasons in school history.

Two key players in that production—wide receiver Olabisi Johnson and running back Izzy Matthews—return as seniors for the Rams in 2018, and are joined by fellow senior Josh Watson, who led the team in tackles in 2017 from his linebacker position, and kicker Wyatt Bryan, who is closing in on several all-time CSU records entering his senior season. Rams fans will get their first glimpse of those senior leaders in the April 21 Green and Gold game, ahead of the Aug. 25 season opener against Hawai'i.

Fans coming to campus on April 21 can plan to begin their day with Rams softball action beginning at 11 a.m. against San Jose State at Ram Field, located just south of Moby Arena. Special trading cards will be distributed to fans in attendance as part of CSU Athletics' Saturday home game promotions in 2018. In addition, the Ram Town interactive family area, including inflatables and other kids' activities, will be set up near Ram Field on campus.

The 37th Annual Ram Good Time Auction—the largest annual fundraising event for CSU Athletics—begins at 6 p.m. at the stadium. Tickets are still available by visiting the online registration page here.
