10-2, WAC Champions, final AP Rank #16
In Sonny Lubick’s second season at the helm, the Rams opened the schedule with seven consecutive wins, carrying over three wins from 1993 to compose a 10-game winning streak. The most memorable win of 1994 was an upset over No. 6 Arizona in Tucson, which had been picked by Sports Illustrated as the top team in the country in its preseason publication. The Rams also beat No. 22 BYU in week three on the road in Provo and lost their only two games of the season to No. 18 Utah and No. 20 Michigan in the Holiday Bowl. It was the first WAC championship in school history, first conference championship since 1955 and first 10-win season in CSU football history. Lubick earned Sports Illustrated and WAC Coach of the Year after the season. Safety Greg Myers was named a first-team All-American by Football Writers, Scripps-Howard and The Sporting News while nine Ram players were named to All-Conference teams.
