Student Positions Opportunities
Colorado State University students are given as many collective opportunities to develop a strong career foundation and contribute to their school's success as those at any athletic department in the nation.
Student assistants and interns are normally interviewed and placed prior to the start of the sport season. However, cover letters and resumes are accepted throughout the year.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Overview:
- Assist with the execution of in-venue production and promotions for various sports for Colorado State Athletics
- Assist with coordinating non-sporting engagement events
- Assist with activating and setting up tailgates for football game days
- Lead student and community engagement efforts through the 2026–2027 school year
- Hours in office, depending on student's involvement in a specific sport or engagement efforts
- Interact effectively with coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and media members

Digital Media & Photography
Overview:
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop social-first content and storytelling strategies
- Support content distribution and learn platform-specific tactics to grow CSU Athletics audiences
- Gain hands-on experience covering live events through real-time content and game-day photography
- Capture and edit photo and short-form video content across practices, games, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Assist with analytics and reporting to evaluate digital performance

Strategic Communications & Brand Enhancement
Overview:
- Assist full-time staff members as tertiary contacts for select varsity sport programs, including writing press releases, game notes, record keeping, and organizing press availability and media relations opportunities
- Assist with event coverage, including in-game social media needs and official NCAA statistic taking
- Assist with generating, posting, and maintaining content on CSURams.com and team social channels throughout the semester and in advance of events
- Ideal (but not required) skills include knowledge of AP writing style, strong copywriting ability, and Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

Graphic Design
Overview:
- Create posters, game day graphics, social assets, and marketing materials for assigned teams
- Collaborate with full-time staff to execute brand-aligned content across multiple sports
- Contribute to visual storytelling while exploring new creative directions and concepts
- Gain hands-on experience within a Division I creative agency environment
- Build portfolio through real-world projects with opportunities for expanded responsibility

Creative Video
Overview:
- Capture and produce video content for games, media days, tournaments, and special events
- Collaborate with creative staff to develop storytelling and technical production skills
- Work across multiple sports and production environments in a fast-paced setting
- Assist in editing, shooting, and executing video content from concept to delivery
- Gain exposure to high-level collegiate athletics storytelling and workflow processes

Rams Live
Overview:
- Film interviews, capture in-game moments, and assist with live production workflows
- Appear on camera as a host, reporter, or contributor for digital content
- Support real-time game day coverage and social-first content initiatives
- Collaborate with staff to execute Rams Live content strategy and fan engagement efforts
- Gain experience in live production, digital media, and on-camera storytelling
