Bob Weber graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1951 and cemented his feet at Colorado A&M as a tough center on the Rams football teams of the 1950s. Due to the Korean War, Weber was allowed to play as a freshman in 1951 and again as a sophomore in 1952, but had to defer his college career in the US Army for two years before returning to Colorado A&M as a junior in 1955. Upon his return, Weber became the trusted lineman on the 1955 conference championship team and earned all-conference honors. He returned for his senior season as an all-conference center at Colorado A&M and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.Â
After graduation, Weber went into coaching at Trinidad Junior College winning a championship there before returning to CSU as an assistant coach for Mike Lude from 1964 to 1966. He coached as an assistant at the University of Arizona, Kansas State, Louisville, SMU and Vanderbilt along with Canadian Football League Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Roughriders. Weber also was a head football coach at Arizona from 1969 to 1972 and at Louisville from 1980 to 1984. He had head coaching jobs with Ottawa and in the Northern European League with the Berlin Adlers. He retired from coaching in the mid-1990s and died at the age of 75 in 2008.
