Volleyball (1985 to 1988)
Cindy Cox-Bellin remains as one of the finest volleyball players in CSU history and still holds a large number of records on the Rams volleyball all-time records. A native of Cerritos, CA, Cox-Bellin joined with some of the finest CSU volleyball athletes in school history to help the Rams win the 1985 High Country Athletic Conference championship in 1985. Her career at CSU continues to show in the Ram record books more than 25 years after her last game. Her career record of 6,340 assists and 496 sets played remain as school records in volleyball. At the end of the 1988 season, she was listed by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as the NCAA leader in career assists. She also holds school records in single season assists, assists per set (season and career) and holds the first, second and third place record in assists for a five-game match. She was voted second team all-conference her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons and first-team all-conference her senior year of 1988.Â
After graduation, Cox-Bellin briefly coached at Cal State Fullerton for one year and then played in some competitive leagues. She then raised her four children and works as a finance manager at the Armstrong Hotel in Fort Collins. She is currently training for half marathons and lives in Fort Collins.Â
