Track and Field (1932 to 1935)

Forrest “Frosty” Harvey was born in Missouri and raised in Fort Collins before he began his stellar career as a long-distance runner for the Aggies. In 1933, Harvey finished third in the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the two-mile earning him the first of his two All-American Awards. His 1933 finish combined with Chester Cruikshank’s second-place finish in the hammer placed CAC 11th in the nation as a team. It was the highest any CSU Track and Field team had finished nationally. Harvey also won an All-American Award in 1935, the same year he won his second conference championship in the two-mile competition. Harvey was also an integral member of the 1932 conference championship team. 

Following his 1936 graduation in the field of veterinary medicine, Harvey moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he became a practicing DVM for 32 years. Harvey was known to frequently officiate dog shows in the Phoenix area and was a well-known dog lover. Forrest Harvey died on September 14, 1968 in Wickenburg, Arizona at the age of 62.
