Track and Field, Cross Country (1960 to 1963)

Gerry Glyde came to Colorado State University in the fall of 1959 from his native country of Canada to run his way into the Rams' athletic record books. A highly talented long distance runner, Glyde became the first All-American in CSU history on a cross country team. In his first All-American season of 1960, Glyde finished 10th in the nation at the NCAA championships. In his second All-American season of 1961, Glyde finished third at the NCAA Championships and helped lead the Rams' cross country team to a fifth-place finish. 

After his CSU career, Glyde went into education and became a professor at Penn State University where he continued to run in numerous events well into his 60s.

  • Skyline Conference Champion in two-mile
  • Set CSU record in two-mile
