As a CSU athlete she won her first All-America Award in 2007 when she finished fifth nationally in the long jump for the indoors competition, following that up with placing sixth nationally in the outdoor long jump for 2007. The Rams women’s team finished 34th and 59th nationally in those competitions. DeLoach also won another All-America award in her senior season in the outdoor competition when she finished sixth again in the nation. When she graduated, Janay DeLoach held five school records, won four conference championships and three All-Conference honors. She is one of only four CSU athletes to win the Virginia Frank Award twice in her CSU career.

DeLoach stayed on at CSU as an assistant coach and trained for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. At the World Indoor Championships in the spring of 2012, DeLoach won a silver medal and moved on to the Summer Olympic Games. In the qualifying round, DeLoach finished second in the long jump with a 6.81 meter effort, qualifying her for the finals. In the final round she jumped 6.89 meters to place third, earning the bronze medal. She became the first female CSU athlete to win an Olympic medal in track and field. In 2016 DeLoach returned to compete in the Olympic Games in Rio di Janerio, but did not qualify in the finals. In 2018 she officially retired from athletics.
