Ranked as one of the finest discus champions in CSU history, Schutz won back-to-back All-American awards in 2007 and 2008 after finishing eighth and sixth in the nation, respectively. Schutz also won the discuss at the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regionals, and when he completed his career as a Ram held the third-longest discus throw in school history.
