Track and Field (1998 to 2001)
Liz Toman continually performed as a student and an athlete while she was at CSU, graduating Cum Laude with a 3.83 GPA and winning three All-American Awards. A native of Waterloo, Ontario in Canada, Toman beat ovarian cancer before her high school graduation and wrote a letter to the CSU track coaches asking to bring her to Fort Collins for a chance. Not only did Toman earn a full scholarship, she excelled in both the shot put and the high jump along with breaking records in the heptathlon, discus and shot. Toman made it to the NCAA Championships in both indoor and outdoor competitions in 2000 and 2001. In 2001 she finished fourth in the nation at the indoors for shot put and at the outdoor competition she finished second in the nation for discus.Â
