    2009
Rich Bircumshaw will forever be known as the voice of the Rams and his untimely death in 2009 left a hole in the hearts of Ram fans from across the nation. A member of the Rams radio network from 1999 to 2009, Rich energized the call of CSU football and basketball games like no other voice on the airwaves before. As the play-by-play announcer from 2002 onward, Bircumshaw was an unselfish ambassador of CSU athletics and continually volunteered to emcee many Rams sports events. Fans loved and embraced his colorful call of games bringing them into the action and players and coaches embraced how he made note of every player and face on the teams. Bircumshaw unexpectedly died at the age of 54 in 2009 from a stroke and was inducted as a member of the hall of honor posthumously.
