Softball (1995 to 1998)
Sarah “Freddie” Fredstrom came from Omaha, Neb., to Colorado State University in 1995 to establish one of the most successful softball careers in school history. Fredstrom, a shortstop, graduated with the career records at CSU in games played (212), games started (212), at-bats (686), hits (252) and RBI (183). She also ranked in the top-five for career records in six other categories and held the single-season records in at-bats, RBI and hits. When she concluded her career she held nine career records and seven single-season records. She was instrumental in helping lead the Rams to a 51-14 record in 1997, winning the WAC Championship and getting within one out of the College Softball World Series in a season CSU finished 10th in the nation. In her amazing 1997 season, she became the first CSU softball player on an NFCA first-team All-America team.
After graduation, Fredstrom played a summer of professional softball with the Virginia Roadsters. She received her pharmacist degree and lives in her native state of Nebraska.
