Track and Field (1995 to 1996, 1998 to 1999)
Shelly Greathouse-Borrman was an outstanding athlete at Fort Collins’ own Rocky Mountain High School and decided to attend CSU as a specialist in the throwing events. She set several school records and became the first CSU track athlete to have been named to five All-American teams (four in the discus and one in the hammer) during her four years of competition. She set WAC records in the discus and won conference championships in discus in 1996, 1998 and 1999. She also received the Rob Upton award for excellence in track all four years she competed along with being named to seven All-WAC teams in discus, shot and hammer. In her senior season she finished second at the NCAA track championships.
While in school, Shelly married former teammate and 2005 CSU hall of fame inductee Mattias Borrman who had graduated a year before their marriage. Shelly was named as one of the top-10 outstanding seniors in the college of business and later went on to compete in the USA National Track and Field Championships in 1999 finishing fourth in discus.Â
