Women’s Basketball (1993 to 1996)
Teresa James was an accomplished athlete and scholar at Aurora’s Hinkley High School when she came to Colorado State to play basketball for then head coach Greg Williams. James carried her athletic and academic accomplishments from high school and continued them at CSU, winning honors as academic All-District in 1994 and a $5,000 post-graduate scholarship award from the NCAA. On the court, James broke the all-time WAC scoring and rebounding record, along with the school record at the time. Her 39 career double-doubles ranked among the top in CSU history. James was also named to three All-WAC teams during her career and tabbed the WAC player of the week three separate times. She also was a key member of the 1996 WAC Championship team.
After graduation in 1996, James went on to Luxembourg to play professionally and later played for the Colorado Chill from 2003 to 2005. After post-graduate work, James became a full-time firefighter with the city of Greeley and also teaches EMT classes at Aims Community College.Â
