Men?s Golf Team Wins Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic

Fresno, Calif. ? Colorado State senior Nolan Martin won the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic after firing a final round of 68 at the Belmont Country Club in Fresno, Calif. This is the second tournament Martin has won this season.
The team finished in first place with a score of 831, three strokes better than second place San Diego State. Earlier in the season the Rams won the Ron Moore Invitational in Brighton, Colo.
Colorado State finished ahead of four other Mountain West schools including San Diego State (No. 2), Brigham Young (No. 3), Wyoming (T-No. 10) and Utah (T-No. 14).
Senior Martin Laird tied for third place with a total score of 206. Sophomore Kevin McAlpine finished in a tie for 10th with a final round of 69 and junior John Hayes tied for 16th place with a score of 212. The six-man team roster also included senior Jim Kurtenbach won tied for 33rd and sophomore Nate Pettitt who finished in 90th.
The Rams will return to action October 19-21 when they travel to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the Barona Collegiate Cup.
