Swimming and Diving Sinks Wyoming

The Colorado State swimming and diving team defeated Wyoming by a score of 140-84 in Laramie, Wyo. on Saturday. The Rams won every event but the 1000 Freestyle.

Freshman Chandra Engs won two events on the day finishing the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle with times of 1:56.67 and 5:16.10, respectively. Engs was also part of the Rams? 200 Freestyle Relay that finished with a time of 1:38.57, along with senior Kristen Schneider, and sophomores Liz Jones and Rachelle Kula.

Schneider finished the 100 Backstroke and 200 IM with times of 58.56 and 2:11.45, respectively to win each event.

Jones won the both the 50 Freestyle (24.26) and 100 Freestyle (53.15). Kula finished the 100 Butterfly in first place with a time of 58.99, and junior Lindsey McCaslin won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.36.

The Rams will return to action Saturday in the final dual meet of the season against UNLV at 2:00 pm at Moby Pool. This will also be the final home meet for this year?s seniors.

In other action, the Colorado State diving team competed in the Air Force Diving Invitational Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs.

Senior Lori Vigil led the way for the Rams in the 3-meter event, placing second with a score of 477.5.

Juniors Kara Crisp and Meghan Trucco also competed in the preliminary round. Crisp finished in 13th place with a score of 364.85 and Trucco placed 17th with a score of 315.15.

Competition will resume on Saturday with the 1-meter diving event.
