Colorado State freshman swimmer Erin Popovich set four American Records and two World Records at the U.S. Paralympics trials in Minneapolis, Minn. on Friday and Saturday.
Popovich, a Montana native, has already competed in the 2000 Sydney Para-Olympics in her career.
On day one, Popovich competed in the 50 fly and the 50 freestyle events, breaking her own records in both preliminaries and finals of both events. In the 50 fly finals, she recorded a time of 38.16, setting both the American and World Records and repeated the feat with a 34.42 time in the 50 freestyle finals.
On day two, Popovich swam the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke, dropping time from both her preliminary and seed times and setting American Records in each. In the 200 IM, she swam a 3:06.84, and recorded a time of 1:40.96 in the 100 breast stroke.
