Rams Roll Bears...
The Colorado State swimming and diving team improved to 2-1 on the season with a dual meet victory over Northern Colorado on Thursday evening at Ram Pool. The Rams defeated the Bears 174-123. The Rams took the top spot in 13 of 16 events on the evening and jumped out to a quick lead with 1-2 finishes in the 200 medley relay and 1000 freestyle.
Staley A Staple...
Colorado State sophomore Tara Staley appears in multiple places on this season's top times list. Staley holds the top times for the Rams in the 200 (1:55.95) and 500 freestyle (5:08.39) events as well as the 100 butterfly (0:58.90). She also is second for Colorado State in the 100 freestyle (0:53.62) and third in the 50 freestyle (0:24.79). Staley is also a member of the top 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle and 400 medley realy teams.
Cox Holding Court...
Freshman Lyndsey Cox is tops for the Rams in the 200 IM (2:11.53) and both the 100 (0:58.70) and 200 backstroke (2:06.42). Tara Staley is the only other Ram to hold three top times.
Mattos and Elliot Honored...
Head Coach John Mattos and former Colorado State standout Kristin Elliot were honored with the 2005 Hall of Fame Class on Nov. 11, 2005. Other Hall of Fame inductees include Mattias Borrman (Track and Field), Lavern (Nick) Kohls (Football and Wrestling), Sarah (Fredstrom) Secrest (Softball), and Brady Smith (Football). The other Hall of Honor inductee is Brian Bedard (Track).
Meet Time Change...
The Colorado State dual meet with Wyoming will be at 5:00 p.m. MT on Nov. 22. The meet was originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and was moved due to academic conflicts.
Apprpaching Semester Break...
Colorado State has three more dates on the schedule before reaching the semester break. This weekend the Rams will travel to Long Beach, Calif. for the Speedo Cup before they head to Laramie, Wyo. for a dual meet with Wyoming on Nov. 22. Colorado State finishes the fall semester with a double-dual in Colorado Springs, Colo. with Air Force and San Diego State on Dec. 3.
