Cross Country Finishes Second, Third

The Colorado State women's cross country team finished second behind Adams State, while the men's team was third behind Adams State and Western State at the 2005 Lobo Invitational this afternoon.
The women's team was led by a trio of Rams -- sophomore April Thomas (22:39), freshman Kirsten Anthony (22:39) and junior Danielle Korb (22:41) -- who crossed the finish line 8th-10th, respectively, with just a two second gap between the three. Sophomore Heather Loseke placed 13th with a time of 23:07 for the six-kilometer course and freshman Kristen Hemphill rounded out the scoring with a 19th place finish. Also competing were sophomore Melissa Thomas, who finished 21st and freshman Chantelle Dron who placed 25th.
Senior Josh Glaab led the men's team with an eighth-place finish, running the eight-kilometer race in 25:14. Senior Paul Michel was 12th, while sophomore Jeff Wahl was 16th, freshman Scott Sanders was 19th and freshman Jeremy Freed was 20th. Also running for the Rams was Rob Watson in 21st and Nelson Palacios in 26th place.
The Ram women totaled 59 points, defeating host New Mexico by 30, while the men's team was third with 75 points.
Colorado State will next compete in the Notre Dame Invitational on October 1 in South Bend, Ind.
