Women's Cross Country Continues To Shine

The Colorado State women's cross country team, ranked 22nd in the nation, finished 11th at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Indiana this afternoon, scoring 323 points, while the men's team placed 29th with 702 points.
Senior Nicole Feest continued her strong season, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 20:46 for 6,000 meters. April Thomas also ran a stellar race, placing 30th with a time of 20:54. Danielle Korb was 52nd overall with a time of 21:15, while Heather Loseke was 95th in 21:42 and Kirsten Anthony rounded out the scoring in 124th with a time of 21:59. Sophomore Kristen Hemphill also placed 134th and Renee Mayer was 187th for the Rams.
The men's team was paced by Ryan Kirkpatrick and Rob Watson with times of 25:01 for the 8-kilometer race, with Kirpatrick in 119th and Watson finishing in 121st place. Jeremy Freed and Andres Urbina finished with times of 25:14 for 151st and 152nd place, respectively and Jeff Wahl was 159th with a time of 25:18.
North Carolina State won the women's race and had the individual champion in Julia Lucas, while Iona won the men's race and Liberty's Josh McDougal won the individual title.
Colorado State will next compete at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships in Salt Lake City on October 28.
