TCU Up Next...
The Colorado State swimming and diving team will travel for the first time in the 2006-07 season. The Rams travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the Horned Frogs of TCU. The meet is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2 and will begin at 6 p.m. MT.
Rams Sweep Conference Meet...
The Rams hosted the first Mountain West Conference meet of the year on Saturday at Edora Pool and Ice Center (EPIC). The meet was a triple-dual meet with conference opponents Air Force, New Mexico and San Diego State. The Rams beat Air Force with a final point total of 194-98. They took down the Lobos with a score of 178-111. To complete the sweep the Rams outscored San Diego State 185-103. The Rams will look to continue this trend Thursday at TCU.
Senior Winegarner Shines in Backstroke Competitions...
Senior Brette Winegarner won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke competition during Saturdays Triple-Duel. Her final time in the 100-yard backstroke was 58.10. That time edged teammate Amy Abrams who finished in 59.80. Winegarner took top honors in the 200-yard backstoke with a time of 2:10.08.
Freshman Cianci Wins Two Events...
Freshman Carmen Cianci won two events in her first conference meet for the Rams. Cianci won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.08. Cianci edge out teammate junior Tara Staley. Staley finished in 1:54.62. The two girls hope to carry the Rams in that competition all season. Cianci also placed first the 100-yard free with a time of 53.78
Junior Hall and Freshman Kelley Continue Success in Diving...
Junior Elyse Hall and Freshman Nicole Kelley placed first and second in the 3-meter diving competition Saturday at EPIC. Hall finished with a point total of 291.25 and Kelley finished with 258.40. Air Force's Danielle Dowds was the closest to challenging Hall and Kelley with 224.50 points.
