CSU Swimming Begins MWC Championships

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Colorado State swimming & diving team is in fourth place after one day of the Mountain West Conference Championships on Wednesday.
CSU's 200 Medley Relay team of Amy Abrams, Alyson Aggers, Rachelle Kula and Elizabeth Jones finished fourth with a season-best time of 1:46.10. while Karin Knudson paced CSU divers with a sixth-place dive in the 1-meter with scores of 256.20 in the prelims and 250.00 in the finals.
The Ram 800 Freestyle Relay team of Tara Staley, Ashley Lonon, Taylor Felton and Jones cashed in a seventh-place finish with their season's top time of 7:33.47.
CSU accumulated 74 total points, 31 points behind leading Utah and just three points behind third-place TCU.
Day two events begin Thursday with preliminary events at 10 a.m. CST and finals competition at 6 p.m. The MWC Swimming & Diving Championships conclude Saturday, Feb. 25, following the 6 p.m. finals events and the announcement of the individual and team awards.
