Ram Swimmers Tied For Fifth at MWC Championships

Oklahoma City, Okla. - CSU senior Liz Jones finished in second place in the 50 freestyle to highlight day two of the MWC Championships for the Ram swimmers. Jones swam the event in a season-best time of 23.33.
The Rams began the day with the 500 Freestyle where senior Taylor Felton finished 10th with a season-best time of 5:00.60 while Tara Staley (5:02.38) and Celes Parks (5:07.81) finished in 12th and 16th, respectively.
Chandra Engs finished 13th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.63 and CSU's 200 Freestyle Relay team of Jones, Lyndsey Cox, Brette Winegarner and Staley came in sixth with a time of 1:34.90.
Colorado State sits in a tie for fifth place with TCU with 140 points. The University of Utah continues to lead the event with 258 points.
Day three of the championships is set for Friday with preliminary events at 10 a.m. CST and finals competition at 6 p.m. The MWC Swimmin & Diving Championships conclude Saturday, Feb. 25.
