BYU Tops Rams 195-105

Colorado State swimming and diving suffered their second straight setback by falling to visiting BYU by a final score of 195-105 Friday night.

Freshman Jen Muniz scored nine of the Rams' points with a first place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Muniz finished ahead of BYU's U-Nice Chan with a finishing time of 2:07.76. Chan finished with a time of 2:08.27.

Colorado State Senior Captain Brette Winegarner finished second in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke. She finished behind BYU Senior Brittany Burk.

The Colorado State divers contributed by finishing second, third and fourth place in 1-meter diving. Junior Elyse Hall led the way for the Rams with a score of 263.55. Junior Karin Knudson followed with a 255.45 and freshman Nicole Kelley finished behind Knudson with a score of 252.67. Hall also placed third in the 3-meter diving with a final point total of 263.40.

The Rams now fall to 4-2 in conference play. The team looks to bounce back January 27th when they travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to take on UC Santa Barbara and UNLV.
