FORT COLLINS, Colo. - After winning a regional championship, the conference championship and completing a successful season the women's cross country team keeps reminding itself that there is one more race. That race, the NCAA Championships held Monday in Terra Haute, Ind., is here. Seniors April Thomas and Heather Loseke will run their final cross country races but as they are quick to remind people this is a team competition.

Thomas and Loseke have taken turns in the top spot for the Rams this season but they recognize how important the finishes of Kristen Anthony, Allison Gohl, Kristen Hemphill, Melissa Thomas and Chantelle Dron have been this season. Anthony finished second in both the MWC Championship and the regional race. Gohl earned MWC Freshman of the Year honors while Hemphill has regularly finished in point scoring positions this season. Thomas and Dron have consistently finished well in the pack.

The Rams have run in the NCAA Championships five previous times as members of the Mountain West Conference. CSU received one of 18 automatic bids. The field grows to 31 teams with at-large selections and 38 runners will compete individually at the event.

The 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships will start with the men's race, beginning at 10 a.m. MST, followed by the women's event at 10:55 a.m. MST. Both races will be broadcast live on CSTV.
