Swimming and Diving Fifth After Day Two of Championships

The Colorado State swimming and diving team is currently in fifth place after the second day of the Mountain West Conference Championships. Colorado State has tallied 171 points.
The CSU women competed in five events on Thursday, scoring in the 500 Free, 200 IM, 1-meter diving and 200 Free Relay.
In the 500 Free, freshman Kathleen McCleary (5:03.28) took home seventh place, while freshman Valerie Maldonado and junior Celes Parks captured 10th and 12th, respectively.
Senior Chandra Engs swam a 2:08.90 to finish in eight in the 200 IM, just ahead of freshman Jen Muniz who grabbed the ninth spot.
Juniors Elyse Hall and Karin Knudson took seventh and ninth, respectively in the 1-meter diving finals, while freshman Nicole Kelly placed 13th.
Colorado State's A-relay team of Muniz, Carmen Cianci, Brette Winegarner and Engs captured sixth place with a time of 1:35.92 in the 200 Free Relay.
The Rams resume competition at the MWC Championships tomorrow from Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City, Okla.
