CSU Swimming Places Fifth at MWC Championships

The Colorado State University swimming and diving team placed fifth at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Rams picked up 406 points.
Nine Rams earned All-Conference honors, led by five nods from freshmen Nicole Kelley (3-meter diving), Nora Kennedy (100 and 200 fly), Valerie Maldonado (1650 free), Kathleen McCleary (500 free) and Jennifer Muniz (400 IM, 200 fly). Sophomore Annsley Lujan (200 breast) junior Elyse Hall (1-meter diving) and seniors Brette Winegarner (100 and 200 back) and Chandra Engs (200 IM) also earned all-conference honors.
BYU took home the top team honors with 747 points, followed by Utah (618), UNLV (527) and Wyoming (480). TCU finished just behind the Rams with a team total of 394 points while New Mexico (260) Air Force (173) and San Diego State (145) rounded out the final standings.
