FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Cross country student-athlete Kristen Hemphill has been selected by CSU academic student services as the student recipient of the Waterpik Excellence in Education Award, the athletic department announced Wednesday. She will be honored at the CSU-TCU football game on Saturday.
Hemphill, a senior from Los Alamos, N.M., will receive the award to honor her commitment toward academic and athletic success. Success of this sort is nothing new to Hemphill. In 2007, she was an integral part of the Mountain West Conference and regional champion women’s cross country team, earning all-conference and all-region honors in the process. She has been named first- or second-team all-conference and all-region in each of her three years at CSU. Furthermore, she earned all-MWC academic honors last season.
There will be a public acknowledgement on the scoreboard during the football game.
