Question: In your opinion, what is the biggest improvement your team has made this year?
Answer: I think that it would have to be our level of competitiveness during the season, and we will do some amazing things at Conference. I also think that the level of sportsmanship and class that our team has displayed is just outstanding.

Q: What personal goals did you make for 2007-08?
A: One of my goals is to be the best teammate that I can be. I have a ways to go, but I think I've improved over the season. This year I also tried to stay away from setting goals that focused on time, but instead more focused on improving my technique.

Q: What has been your best memory as a Ram?
A: I think that our training trip to San Diego over break is my favorite memory thus far as a Ram. I got to know my teammates a lot better, and John taught me how to surf which was pretty cool.

Q: What will you miss most when you leave CSU?
A: I haven't been here for very long but I think right now what I'll miss is the camaraderie on the team and how much fun we have together. I will also miss John tremendously, as he has been an awesome coach.

Q: Will you continue swimming after you leave CSU?
A: I hope so, but it'll probably be in a much more laid-back setting. I'd really like to give coaching a try, as well.

Q: Do you have pre-meet rituals?
A: I usually listen to some music before the meet. As a team, we all stretch together before the meet. And we also do the dance to "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy at home meets.

Q: What type of music pumps you up before a meet?
A: I know heavy metal is terrible music, but it really gets me pumped up for my races. I also listen to rock music.

Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I work in a Microbiology lab on campus and I enjoy it very much. I also play the cello in the orchestra at CSU. I also spend a lot of time reading and studying.

Q: Do you have any favorite television shows?
A: I don't really watch TV.

Q: What's on your meet-day menu?
I always have a smoothie and a bagel right before the meet.

Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: My favorite athlete would definitely have to be Jenny Thompson. She has contributed tremendously to the sport and is also a very well rounded person outside of the pool.

Q: How do you keep centered in the pool?
A: What keeps me focused is the fact that I want to be the best swimmer that I can be. Everything that I do during practice and during races will affect how I perform, and therefore I must strive to do my best if I want to see how far I can go.

Q: How do you juggle sports with school?
A: It is hard, but I am learning how to manage my time better. My coach, teammates, and especially my family have helped keep me balanced and focused on what is important.

Q: Do you have any special bonds with an individual teammate?
A: I think I have a stronger bond with my fellow Fort Collins teammates, Nora Kennedy and Maddie Gamble. I also have a very special bond with Valerie Maldonado who is helping me get through Organic Chemistry, the bane of my existence.
