FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State swimming program has added Mary Foster, McKenna Gustafson, and UCLA transfer Jennifer Lamb, Head Coach John Mattos announced Friday.

Foster, a true freshman out of The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas where she was the senior captain, will provide a great addition for the Rams. Helping her team win the Texas state championship this year, Foster was named to the 2009 all-state first team. She helped set the 200 Freestyle relay state record this year as well.

“Kelly is a talented young breaststroker who could develop into a real valuable member of our swimming team,” said Mattos. “She has a good presence in the water, knows how to race and I’m looking forward to working with her.”

Gustafson, another true freshman, joins the Rams from Thompson Valley High School in Loveland, Colo. After competing in the 50 Free in the Colorado state championships, Gustafson will be a welcome addition for Colorado State.

“She is just a pure athlete who has unlimited potential in the water,” said Mattos. “We’re looking for her to excel in the sprint free and butterfly events.”

Rounding out the new additions is UCLA transfer Jennifer Lamb from Cypress, Texas. Lamb’s speed and athleticism will be a great asset to the Rams. In high school, Lamb was an all-state athlete in the 200 free and 500 free, and was a four-time first-team All-American. Lamb could be a big key for the Rams, especially in the Mountain West.

“Her best times are in the 500 Free, which happen to be faster than our school records,” said Mattos. “That would also place her in the finals in the conference championships. She has big potential and will have an immediate impact in conference and possibly on the national level.”
