Fort Collins, Colo. – Colorado State sophomore Ellie Rastall has been selected as the Mountain West Conference women’s cross country Athlete of the Week after her performance in the Wyoming Invitational Friday.
Rastall, a Fort Collins native, captured the women’s title for the second consecutive year at the Wyoming Invitational. Her time of 14 minutes 30.30 seconds in the 4K race shattered the Jacoby Golf Course record, previously set at 14:42 by former Rams runner Heather Loseke in 2007.
"Ellie Rastall had a phenomenal effort breaking the course record by 12 seconds," Head Coach Bryan Berryhill said. "She did a tremendous stand-up job."
The Rams earned their sixth-straight first-place finish at the Invitational, placing four runners in the top 10 spots .
Rastall and the Rams will face their next competition on Sept. 18, when the Rams host the Colorado State Classic in Fort Collins.
