FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado State cross country season gets under way this Friday as both the men’s and women’s teams travel to Laramie, Wyo., to compete in the Wyoming Invitational.

The Rams will look to sweep the meet for the third consecutive year and build momentum for the rest of the season.

Colorado State has competed in the Wyoming Invitational all five years under Head Coach Bryan Berryhill giving the Rams a good comparison on their improvements from previous seasons. The meet will be held at Jacoby Gold Course where Junior Ellie Keyser broke the course record in 2009 by 12 seconds.

The 2010 season looks promising for both the men and women who return a wealth of experience. Ellie Keyser will lead the women's team and look to build off of her sophomore year in which she took fourth in the 10,000 meters at the Mountain West Outdoor Conference meet and qualified for NCAA nationals in the same event. The men look to Daniel Wallis who qualified for NCAA nationals in the 5,000 meters last spring. With so many returners, both teams seem optimistic as they take their first step towards qualifying for nationals in November.
