FORT COLLINS, Colo.--Two weeks after finishing in strong fashion at the Wisconsin Invitational and the Pre-Nationals, the Colorado State men's and women's cross country teams are ready to compete at the Mountain West championships.

The competition will take place on Saturday, at the Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins. The men's 8K race will start at 10 a.m. MT, while the women's 6K race will begin at 11 a.m. MT.

The Rams can use the championships to show off their ability and hard work from the season. Many of the athletes are looking forward to racing in a place with which they are familiar.

"Many of our athletes are from the Northern Colorado region," said Head Coach Bryan Berryhill. "They are feeling good about competing in their own area."

Nicole Peters will lead the women's team in the MW championships after her strong 26th place finish at the Wisconsin Invitational. Meanwhile, Christian Meyer will help guide the men's team after his solid finish at the Pre-Nationals.

Berryhill expects both teams to have good competition.

"The women's team is looking forward to competing against New Mexico, who is currently ranked number one and are quite good," said Berryhill. "The men's race will be a good competition as well with New Mexico and Air Force."

Both teams look to finish on a strong note with hopes of competing at nationals this year.
