FORT COLLINS, Colo. –
The Colorado State swimming & diving season is in full swing, and wanting to gain as much experience in a competition format before the Mountain West Championships, Head Coach Christopher Woodard has elected to participate in the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn., on Nov. 15-17. The Invitational will replace the Houston Invite, which CSU was originally scheduled to compete in during the same weekend.

In Knoxville, the Rams will face No. 13 Tennessee, Duke and Kentucky. The Houston Invite had 15 swim teams and 18 diving programs competing. With fewer teams, the Tennessee Invitational will allow the Rams more night swims and more dives.

“Seeing the number of teams that were going to be at Houston, and the timeline and potentially the impact on our night performances, we wanted to have a meet where it’s still highly competitive, but it’s going to give us many more opportunities as to what a conference meet is going to be like,” Woodard said. “We’ll be competing against three very, very reputable programs and a high level of talent. It’ll still be very difficult, but with the smaller number of teams, it’s a better situation for us.”
