CSU Men's Cross Country Team Ranks No. 16

FORT COLLINS, Colo.-- Colorado State entered Week 3 of the 2013 season ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association National Coaches Poll at No. 16.
The ranking is the highest for CSU since 2003. It is the first time the Rams have been ranked in the national poll since 2005.
The team traveled to St. Paul, Minn., for the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 28, taking second place overall. Junior Andrew Goodman led the men's team, taking ninth in his overall individually in the 8k race with a time for 24 minutes, 41 seconds. Two seconds behind Goodman, Ben Larson finished with a time of 24:21, with Alex Muntefering coming in one second after (24:34). Also with solid finishes for the Rams were freshman runners Jefferson Abbey (25:33) and Adam Hartman (25:56).
The men were just 5 seconds behind the No. 4 team in the country, BYU.
The men's and women's teams will head to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 4.
