Mostafa Hassan Named to Trio of Bowerman Watch Lists

- Since earning a spot on that list, Hassan has backed up the Bowerman hype with spots on the Post-Championship list and the Mid-Outdoor list.
- Hassan earned a berth on the Mid-Outdoor list after recording a personal-best mark of 69-11 (21.31m) to win the elite invitational at the Mt. SAC Relays. Hassan's mark is currently the best in the nation by over two and a half feet (67-4/20.52m by Virginia's Filip Mihaljevic) and ranks as the best in the Mountain West by over 12 and a half feet (57-4.25/17.48m by CSU's Daniel Weirich). Furthermore, Hassan is the world's fifth-ranked shot putter for the 2017 outdoor season.
- Hassan earned his Post-Championship recognition after capturing the indoor national title in the shot put with a mark of 69-9.5 (21.17m), the best at the meet by over four and a half feet. Hassan became CSU's first national champion in over a decade with his performance.
- Hassan was named to the Pre-Championship list after his MW record-shattering mark of 69-10.75 in the shot put at the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field championships. His mark led the nation for the 2016-17 indoor season, and makes him the 10th-ranked performer in the event in NCAA history and the fourth-ranked performer in the world.

Hassan Earns Third MW Weekly Honor of Outdoor Season
- With a mark of 65-2.25 (19.87m) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational, Colorado State's Mostafa Hassan was named Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Men's Field Athlete of the Week. It was his third weekly honor of the outdoor season.
- Hassan is the first Mountain West athlete on the men's side to earn weekly outdoor conference honors three times in a single season since 2014 (Colorado State's Trevor Brown and Wyoming's Mason Finley). Hassan also earned weekly conference honors on April 18 and on March 28.
- Only four other athletes in the nation have had a mark at any point during the season that tops Hassan's mark of 65-2.25/19.87m from this Saturday. Hassan's best shot put mark of 69-11 (21.31m) at the Mt. SAC Relays currently leads the nation by two and a half feet and ranks fifth in the world.

Record-Breaking Weekend Leads to MW Weekly Honors for Hassan and Pete
- Competing at the Mt. SAC Relays, each of Hassan and Pete broke their own respective Mountain West and CSU shot put records. Hassan won the elite invitational on the men's side with a mark of 69-11 (21.31m), while Pete placed third in the women's elite invitational with a mark of 56-3 (17.14m). Following those performances, each were named MW Athletes of the Week.

With his mark, Hassan became the fifth-ranked performer in the outdoor shot put in the world as well as the NCAA leader.
- Pete topped her previous conference and school records in the shot put by just over half of a foot (previous record was 55-75/16.95m on May 16, 2015). Pete's mark ranked 10th in the nation in the shot put at the time, and was the best in the Mountain West in the event by over five feet (51-2.75/15.61m by Utah State's Brenn Flint) at that point.
