In this RamWire exclusive series, we go in focus and get the details on some of the most engaging photos from CSU Athletics events. Our latest photo features football junior defensive end Emmanuel Jones in a 34-27 win over Arkansas during the 2018 season.

On the play itself

It was 3rd down and long, probably 20 yards. I don't remember exactly what play coach called, but I remember that my assignment was to rush the field, beat the tackle out and try to go back outside. I ripped off the tackle, got back around the outside and got the quarterback when he tried to boot out.

It's not much more complicated than that, to me it was just a normal play. You expect to make good plays, but this was something that happened naturally. Technique and basic training made the play happen.

On his reaction to the moment

It felt like it was in a movie. It was incredible and awesome. I can't even explain it, when it happened, I just blacked out and heard white noise.

Teammates were happy, coaches were happy. I had mixed emotions and didn't know how to react to it because we were still playing, and there was still time on the clock. I was happy because it was a good play, but we still had to focus.

On seeing the moment as a photo

Knowing that we won the game, the photo makes me a lot happier. This is just one of the good moments that happened for the team. Everyone had some type of contribution to win the game. This is just one of the many key moments.

On seeing his teammates and coaches' reactions in the photo

It's something you work towards, it's your goal when you're out there. To make everyone proud and do it for the team. To not be selfish.

On making history against Arkansas

It was a good statement piece. Any team can lose on any given day. We told everyone that we're going to go out there and give 100% every time and we'll see the outcome at the end. It is what it is.

On the atmosphere at Canvas Stadium

It's always nice to see all the fans there supporting us. It's a good atmosphere. I've never been in a situation where fans rushed the field. It was weird, but it was cool at the same time. I'm not going to say I didn't like it, but it was a little surprising.
