Rams dominate outdoor track & field All-Mountain West selections

Seven CSU athletes earn honors in multiple events
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State's outdoor track & field teams, which swept the team titles at the conference championships over the weekend in Clovis, Calif., dominated the All-Mountain West selections, which were released by the conference Tuesday.
CSU became the first program since 2011 to sweep both titles at the indoor and outdoor championships, as well as the first team to sweep the outdoor titles since the Rams did it back in 2015. After the meet, head coach Brian Bedard was named the MW coach of the year.
They picked up 27 honors, with seven athletes tabbed in multiple events. Jackson Morris, who was the male performer of the conference championships, earned three for the shot put, discus and javelin. At the meet, Shadae Lawrence broke the Mountain West record in the women's discus with her throw of 213-5, best in the nation this season.
CSU is now preparing for the NCAA West Regional event May 23-25 in Sacramento, Calif. Qualifiers advance to the NCAA Championships June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
