Junior qualified for Zones on 1-meter, platform last week

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Through all three seasons, Skylar Williams has proved to be an ever-improving competitor as a Colorado State diver.

Having competed at the NCAA Zones on the 1-meter board her first two seasons with the Rams' women's swimming and diving program, she'll be going back for a third trip this season, and she's added the platform to her schedule. She did so at this past Wednesday's meet in Coral Springs, Fla., a performance which earned her Diver of the Week honors Tuesday from the Mountain West.

She becomes the first CSU diver to earn the award since Emily Williams on No. 25, 2016.

Skylar posted personal bests on both the 1-meter and the platform in taking second in both competitions against New Mexico. She scored a 271.88 on the 1-meter, then followed up with a score of 225.83 on the platform.

Her score on the platform ranks second all-time for the program. Making the score more remarkable is the fact the Rams rarely get to practice on the platform, and it was just the second time all season they had a competition on one.

Williams will be back on the board Friday as she and the Rams travel to Colorado School of Mines for a dual (5 p.m.)
