Rams posted 3.40 GPA for fall semester
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The news, as regular as it may be in the program, is always welcomed.
The Colorado State women's swimming and diving team earned Scholar All-American honors for the 2019 fall semester from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America on Wednesday, an honor the team has earned annually this decade, including the spring semester. The team was honored by the NCAA last year for being a top-10 academic program in its sport by posting a perfect Academic Progress Rate for four consecutive seasons, a run which currently sits at five years.
"It's so gratifying to work with student-athletes who are curious and engaged in their education," CSU coach Christopher Woodard said. "They continue to represent themselves and their school in the best possible manner by setting high goals in the classroom and achieving them."
The team compiled a 3.40 GPA for the semester. To qualify, the team had to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the fall. In all, 182 women's programs nationally were recognized. The list included all nine teams in the Mountain West, with CSU's GPA ranking third.
