FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Coming off a fifth-place finish at the Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., Colorado State's women's program hauled in a record number of All-Mountain West accolades under coach Christopher Woodard for their efforts.
Colorado State scored 830.5 points, its best total since the Mountain West went to 24-place scoring in 2017.
All-conference honors go to those who placed in the top eight of an event, plus the top three relays. The Rams had seven individuals account for the 13 total awards, plus the 200-yard freestyle relay. The last time CSU had seven individual swimmers earn recognition was in 2010.
Those honored are:
Julia Box – 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly
Kristina Friedrichs – 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle
Marie Goodwyn – 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley
Maddie Ward – 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke
Skylar Williams – 1-meter springboard, platform
Amanda Hoffman – 200 butterfly
Hannah Sykes – 200 butterfly
200 freestyle relay – Sydnee Whitty, Elsa Litteken, Box, Friedrichs
The results came with some notable program performances. Williams set the school record in both diving events; Box sits third all-time in the 200 butterfly, with Hoffman fourth and Sykes fifth in the event; Friedrichs' time in the 100-free was fourth best in program history; the 200 free relay notched CSU's second best time ever; and Ward hit an NCAA 'B' cut in both breaststrokes for the second consecutive year.
Williams will compete in the NCAA Zone E meet March 8-10 in Seattle on the 1- and 3-meter springboards, as well as the platform; teammate Rachel Holland qualified for the meet on the 3-meter board.
