Holland Earns CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American Honors

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Junior diver Rachel Holland was recognized for her academic and athletic accomplishments for the 2019 -20 season as the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of American released its list of 2020 Scholar All-American's on Thursday.

To be recognized for first-team honors, swimmers and divers must carry a GPA of 3.50 or better, as well as be invited to their respective national championships. Honorable mention selections must carry the same GPA qualifications and have hit a "B" time standard in the pool or qualify for NCAA regional or zones competition.

Holland, a Fort Collins native who attended Rocky Mountain High School, carries a 3.76 cumulative GPA as she majors in health and exercise science, earning Academic All-Mountain West and Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors throughout her career.

"She's one of those kids who is definitely a diamond in the rough," CSU head coach Christopher Woodard said. "Sometimes there are kids who are close to home, and they're not quite sure if they can do it, and you're not quite sure, but they show those intangible characteristics that make you believe they'll give it their all trying. She goes all out. She never lets us down."

This past season, Holland qualified for the NCAA Zone E meet for the first time, competing on both the 1- and 3-meter boards. She posted a personal-best score of 294.10 on the 3-meter board at the Mountain West Championships, placing 12^th, while also establishing a PR on the platform at 204.30. Her results marked the third individual placing at the conference meet in her career.
