Newton on signing Wilkinson
"Any time we sign such a good in-state player like Matthew, it's a huge win. I think he's the best player in the state and has a tremendous amount of talent. He's only been playing golf for five years, and his developmental trajectory is off the charts. He's a perfect fit for CSU, hard-working blue-collar type of kid that loves to play and practice. He will fit in great with our culture."

Wilkinson on CSU
"When I visited Fort Collins and took the tour of the practice facilities, the golf courses the team plays, the indoor facilities on campus and the ones at Harmony, I was truly blown away. There were so many tools available that other places did not offer. To go along with the great courses and practice facilities, the atmosphere at the school was great, and everybody was very welcoming and helpful. Especially after talking to the academic advisor, I saw that everybody has your best interests in mind when it comes to school. So to see the great balance between school and golf, it felt like home, and that's why I choose CSU."
