FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State is bringing home a veteran placer for the 2021-22 women's swimming and diving season with the addition of graduate transfer Morgan Rosas.
Â
Rosas, who starred as a prep during an All-American career at Cherry Creek High School, joins head coach Christopher Woodard's program from the University of Houston, where she placed nine times individually and swam a leg on the first-place 800 freestyle relay at the American Athletic Conference Championships, helping the Cougars extend their reign on the AAC to five consecutive team titles. She also earned AAC All-Academic honors.
Â
"We are so excited to welcome Morgan back to Colorado and to the Rams," Woodard said. "Morgan is a proven elite-level swimmer whose skill set covers nearly every discipline. Her recent success in the IM, backstroke and butterfly puts her in contention with the top eight within the Mountain West. Her experience, and more importantly her enthusiasm, will provide an immediate boost to our program for the 2021-2022 season."
Â
In her final season for the Cougars, Rosas placed fifth at the AAC Championships in the 400-yard individual medley, fifth in the 200 backstroke and seventh in the 200 butterfly. She swam in the 'A' finals at the AAC meet in the 400 IM three times. Â Rosas, who has one year of eligibility remaining, has posted collegiate personal bests of 1:58.88 in the 200 backstroke, 2:00.84 in the 200 butterfly, 2:01.80 in the 200 IM and 4:20.05 in the 400 IM.
Â
She will seek a second bachelor's degree while at Colorado State.
