Two Men and Two Women Won Events Saturday in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. – Four more wins were added by student-athletes in Rams' jerseys Saturday to conclude Colorado State's first meet back from break at the Potts Invitational.

The day two first-place finishers included Tom Oates (One mile), Liam Mather (60m hurdles), Janyah Jasper (60 meters) and Lauren Gale (200m).

Making her season debut, Gale clocked a 23:52 in the 200-meter race to go from fourth to third all-time, passing Leah Fair. In the 60-meter race, Jasper crossed first with a time of 7.51.

Oates highlighted the men's distance runners that made their season debut since they did not compete in CSU's first two meets prior to the holiday break. He crossed with a time of 4:10.88 in the mile with three other Rams in the top 10. In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Mather and Germain Barnes finished 1-2 with Mather clocking an 8.04.

Two runner-up finishes marked times that were of note for CSU's all-time list.  On the women's side Megan Mooney placed runner up in mile with a time of 4:55.21 – good for a share of 16th in CSU History. Keeley Stephens clocked a 21.39 in the 200m to jump three spots to sixth all-time.

For the meet, the Rams notched nine first-place finishes and four top-20 marks in CSU's record book.

Next, the Rams will compete in the three-day Air Force Invitational/Multi, starting Thursday, Jan. 20th and going through Saturday, Jan. 22nd at the Cadet Fieldhouse.

Head Coach Brian Bedard
On the meet…
"Similar to yesterday's results in the sense that we saw some good things out of a few student-athletes and could tell that they worked hard during the break. We also saw that we need to get back into a training rhythm whether it is techniques or just getting back into peak shape. Overall, it was great to get some reps in real competition and our student-athletes enjoyed being back."
