In debut meet, won the 100-yard freestyle and joined CSU record book

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Making her debut at Colorado State, Alexis Trietley made a lasting impression against a quality field, earning the distinction of being the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Olean, N.Y., product inserted herself into the CSU record book with a pair of top-five finishes at the Chick-fil-A Invitational in Fresno, Calif., a lineup which featured UCLA and Cal out of the Pac-12. She won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.17, matching the fifth-best time in program history. She placed fifth in the 50 free in a time of 23.11 which ranks ninth at Colorado State. She also helped four of the Rams' relays place in the top six, swimming the anchor leg in each.

Last season marked the addition of the freshman of the week award by the conference, with two Rams combining to win it three times. Diver Lindsay Gizzi won it twice, Maya White once. In total, the Rams captured nine weekly honors in 2021-22 (a program record) between swimmer, diver and freshman of the week.

Colorado State has a double dual Saturday (11 a.m.) in Golden with host Colorado School of Mines and New Mexico State.
