Squad Earns Scholar All-American Honors from CSCAA

Seven team members had a perfect GPA for the spring
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – For the 11th consecutive semester, Colorado State's women's swimming and diving team has earned Scholar All-American Team honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America as the organization announced Monday the team which made the cut for the Spring 2022 campaign.

Teams must maintain a 3.0 GPA for a semester to earn the distinction. Colorado State's team GPA for the spring was 3.58, with seven members of the team posting perfect 4.0 GPAs in the spring – Jessica Albanna, Emma Breslin, Megan Hager, Liza Lunina, Abbey Owenby, Caroline Perry and Hannah Sykes. Both Breslin and Hager carry perfect cumulative 4.0 GPAs.
 "I'm extremely proud of our team for this accomplishment," head coach Christopher Woodard said. "They are the embodiment of what we strive for here, to be stalwart Rams in all areas of our life. This is a goal for our team every year, one which is just as important as any we set for ourselves in competition."

The Rams compiled a perfect 14-0 dual record in 2021-22, the most wins in a single season and the first undefeated run since 2000-01. They placed fifth as a team at the Mountain West Championships and set three school records over the course of the year, the 400- and 800-yard freestyle relays and the 1-meter diving mark by Lindsay Gizzi. Overall, the Rams had 29 new entries into the program's top 10 in individual events.
