Jones Low Amateur, Sets Am Scoring Record at Inspirato Colorado Open

The rising senior tied for third, posting 19-under for the four-round event to set the amateur record by four shots

DENVER, Colo. – Rising senior Connor Jones shot a 3-under 69 in the final round and finished as the low amateur and tied for third overall at the 2022 Inspirato Colorado Open, July 21-24. The annual event was played at Green Valley Ranch in Denver.

The Westminster native posted a 19-under total (67-67-63-68=265) for the 72-hole event, finishing as the low amateur by a whopping 12 shots and tying with former Ram Zahkai Brown for third. In setting a new scoring record for an amateur by four shots and the highest finish for an amateur since 2010, Jones led the field for the week in Par-5 scoring, going 11-under and averaging 4.1 on those holes.

Other Ram alums in the top 25 of the tournament include AJ Ott in a tie for 18^th at 12-under and Jake Staiano in a tie for 22^nd at 11-under. Wil Collins of Rapid City, S.D., won the tournament at 23-under 261 after a final round 6-under 65.
