A near-record year for Canvas Stadium highlighted the report.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State University's Department of Athletics has submitted its 2021-22 financial report to the NCAA as part of the NCAA's annual reporting requirements for all Division 1 athletic departments.

A PDF copy is available HERE. The year coincided with the return of fans to arenas on campus with the 2021 volleyball season and majority of the 2021-22 basketball seasons requiring masks for fans in attendance to Moby Arena. Outdoor events, including those at Canvas Stadium for the 2021 season, did not have a masking requirement.

Highlights of the 2021-22 Financial Report:
  • Saw $16.2 million in gross revenue and $13.4 million in net revenue for the operation of Canvas Stadium, the second-highest marks since opening the venue in 2017
  • Exceeded the CSL study in net income variance for the stadium in FY22 by $1.15 million
  • Took less University one-time support than budgeted, a mark achieved every year during Joe Parker's tenure as Director of Athletics
  • Football transition utilized $2.3 million in funds from Hughes Stadium site sale proceeds
  • Saw significant increases in revenue in men's basketball, overall concessions, Mountain West media rights fee, and donor contributions
  • Operations returned to pre-pandemic levels
On February 2, 2023, Director of Athletics Joe Parker presented the results to the CSU System Board of Governors.
